CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NOMINATION!

You have been recognized by your school administration as a student of brilliance who has exhibited strength in both academic integrity and achievement, and community engagement and leadership. We are pleased for your name to be placed into consideration to represent your school and community for this prestigious honor.

As a part of this process, you are being asked to complete a short application form, to accompany the nomination form that was submitted by your school administration. Following this application completion, Wake Education Partnership (WakeEd) will assemble a committee that represents both WCPSS personnel and local community members. Once all nominations and applications have been reviewed, there will be a selected group of applicants who will be invited to participate in a formal interview process. From the interview, one student will be selected as the recipient of the Wake Education Partnership Emerging Star Award.

The recipient of this award will be granted $5,000 to be used for post-graduation purposes, which include (but are not limited to): post-secondary attainment, or credentialing and certification to enter into the workforce.

As you prepare to fill out this application, you will need:

  • Personal Resume: this should include any academic accomplishments you have made, community and volunteer service, positions held (in and out of school), and any extracurricular recognitions or awards.
  • Personal Statement: you will be allowed to either write out your response, or video-record.
  • Letter of Recommendation: this must be authored by an educator at your current school that is classified as an administrator. This can include (but is not limited to) - Principal, Assistant Principal, CDC, Counselor, and Dean of Students.

All questions/inquiries during this process may be sent to Douglas Price (dprice@wakeed.org).

All applications and accompanying materials are due by Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:59pm.
